Short run tooling longevity

Q: How many precision parts can we get from this tooling run?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company guarantees our short run tooling throughout the duration of your job, and that promise includes repairing or replacing the tooling should there be a need to.

Tooling cost

Q: What tooling costs am I looking at?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company has a one-time tooling charge. Any flat part with holes runs about $50.  More complex parts have a higher cost which rarely exceeds $1,000.

Average run quantity

Q: What part quantities can Fox Valley Stamping Company accommodate?
A: Our average order is between 750 and 1,000 pieces. Over the years we have done every combination from a one piece prototype to a 5 piece order up to 100,000 piece orders.

Order lead time

Q: What is the turnaround time for a typical order?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company has a normal lead time of 3 to 4 weeks. More complex jobs have a lead time of 5 to 10 weeks.

Materials

Q: What kind of materials does Fox Valley Stamping work with?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company works with prime quality flat stock.  We can use your prime quality raw material if you would like to supply it. Some of the more common materials include aluminum, brass, copper, beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, all carbon steels, and stainless steel. We work with a wide range of finishes and tempers for CNC metal stamping.

Material thickness and sizes

Q: How large of a part can you manufacture?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company can produce parts of various sizes and shapes. We process sheets in thickness capacities up to 3/8” (.375) mild steel and work with maximum sheet sizes of 48” x 96”.

Dimensional tolerances

Q: What kind of dimensional tolerances can Fox Valley Stamping Company hold?
A: Our dimensional tolerance standard is +/-.005 and if we are working off of customer samples we can go to +/- .015.

Customer samples

Q: Can you work to my sample?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company can work to a customer sample, print or electronic file. Design capabilities allow us to design a new custom part.

Blanket orders / split shipments for inventory control

Q: Will you accept blanket orders? Will you hold customer inventory for split shipments?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company accepts blanket orders and works with you to help with your inventory control. For example, a customer can place a 10,000 part blanket order to receive our volume discount and can have 850 pieces shipped per month to your facility.

Quality system / certification

Q: What quality system does Fox Valley Stamping use?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company is not certified.  However, based on ISO 9001: 2000, we take every step to ensure that ISO quality management guidelines are followed. This includes ongoing audits, training, and system upgrades.

In-house processing / secondary operations

Q: Do you do any secondary operation processing?
A: Fox Valley Stamping Company does secondary processes such as drilling, tapping or machining in-house. We do not do heat treating, plating or painting in house but we regularly source or contract these processes to trusted partners as part of our total care customer service.
